Weekly Encouragement

After every Monday prayer meeting, we email a recap to encourage all of our registry members in their business work. We also post the encouragements to this blog for anyone to learn more about how we do what we do!

The Proverbial Edition

Today we were in what is often called the book of wisdom, Proverbs. Specifically, chapter 10:15-22. We prayed that you walk in wisdom and pursue a righteous life. We asked for your business to be rich in joy, peace, family love and co-workers’ cooperation. We implored that the messages you send out nourish many inside and outside your company. We prayed for you to receive incredible blessings as you focus on heaven first. We pray for encouragement as you give of your time and resources. Then we prayed for your workplace to be a slice of heaven overflowing with blessings. We asked God to protect you, your co-workers, your customers and your families. We prayed for an abundance of truth, honesty and vulnerability as you work.

The Lentil Stew Edition

Our stomachs direct us with hunger and our passions drive us with other desires. Sometimes our short-term needs seem so important that we trade in long-term objectives without fully considering the consequences. There is a story in Genesis about Esau trading his rights as the firstborn son to his younger brother Jacob for a bowl of lentil stew. We prayed for you to make better decisions than Esau. In Genesis 25:29-34 [ ]“On oath Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn. Jacob gave him bread and the stew of lentils.” [ ] We live in an instant world. When was the last time you had to go to the video store to get a movie? Stepped outside to harvest some veggies from the garden? Waited to ask a question rather than Googling it? I can’t count how many times each day I impulsively make a decision because I’m convinced

The Rest of the Story Edition

Paul Harvey built a legendary radio career by telling “The Rest of the Story” where he shared forgotten or little-known true stories. With so many profound truths available in the Holy Scriptures, the rest of the story that God shares often gets lost or forgotten. In Chapter 4, the writer of Hebrews reminds us that resting in God’s love and provision is the story. God’s overwhelming purpose in scripture is to draw us near to Him in a wholly trusting relationship.  We focused on Hebrews 4:16 So let’s walk right up to him (God) and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. Accepting grace and mercy while asking for help may be the ultimate way of showing trust.  Resting and talking with God, Dayn and the prayer team P.S. As this is Easter week, I love spending time reading The Resurrection Story, where

The Good News Edition

Today we did our best to align with the blessing that you provide in and through your business as we prayed for you. Specifically, we prayed from Isaiah 61:1-2 The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of his grace — a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies. MSG We LOVE what you do! As a business leader, you have direct and indirect influence over the lives of those you touch. The products and services that you offer make lives better and solve problems for your customers. What you do is good news to the poor.  The employment opportunities that you create bless men and women with dignity, purpose and income. The jobs you create can

The Open Eyes and Birthday Edition

Today we prayed for you. We prayed from Psalm 105:4-5a Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence. Remember the world of wonders he has made. I especially enjoy praying things for you that I also want in my own life and in the lives of the prayer team.  Last Friday, the Prayer Registry – that grew into prayingbusiness.com – celebrated three years in business.  THANK YOU for including us in the wonderful work you are doing.

The Reveille Edition

Reveille is a signal made with a bugle or horn to get your attention – often to wake you up if you are in the military. We love praying for you, and today we prayed Numbers 10:1-3 for you and your business. God spoke to Moses: “Make two bugles of hammered silver. Use them to call the congregation together and give marching orders to the camps. When you blow them, the whole community will meet you at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.” Our prayers centered on community, the work you do (hammering out a bugle – metaphorically. We don’t have a musical instrument maker to pray for yet…) and on reminders to look toward God. So we prayed for: We also noted that God created systems like bugle calls to worship for the Israelites to draw them toward Him, toward each other and toward prayer. What systems do
