In Chapter 4, the writer of Hebrews reminds us that resting in God’s love and provision is the story. God’s overwhelming purpose in scripture is to draw us near to Him in a wholly trusting relationship.  We focused on Hebrews 4:16 So let’s walk right up to him (God) and get what he is so ready to give. Today we prayed for you. We prayed from Psalm 105:4-5a Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence. Remember the world of wonders he has made. Today is also Texas Independence Day, a holiday I just learned about today. I also learned that texas means “friends” in the indigenous language of the area. The meaning of texas fits well with today’s scripture found in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth.
