Today is also Texas Independence Day, a holiday I just learned about today. I also learned that texas means “friends” in the indigenous language of the area. The meaning of texas fits well with today’s scripture found in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough! Everyone needs a good friend. Happy Independence Day to the 9 companies from Texas. Happy Monday to the other 200+ that are on this prayer registry!
Leading is lonely. Carrying the responsibility for managing anything can be exhausting. Having someone to share your struggles and celebrations with can go a long way toward a healthy existence for you and the organization. After thanking God for you and the position that you are in, we prayed:
- For a friend that you can share with;
- For common vision with those around you;
- Healing of relationships;
- Someone to pick you up when you fall;
- For you to experience God’s presence when you are alone.
I have found that many times I had to be the friend that I needed to someone else before I experienced the blessings of friendship. If you are feeling alone, ask God to show you someone who needs a friend.
