We prayed earlier today. We prayed for you, the work you do and the people you serve. We found opportunity, hope and encouragement in the words that God spoke to Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 12:5a God said, “So, Jeremiah, if you’re worn out in this footrace with men, what makes you think you can race against horses?”

Jeremiah was exhausted and couldn’t keep up with his job because he was doing everything in his own power. God was offering a better option – do life in my power and on my terms, and you’ll run faster than horses and experience more of life than you can imagine.

Corrie Ten Boom, a holocaust survivor, shared, “If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God, you’ll be at rest.” 

We prayed for those of you who feel like:

• You are in over your head;
• You have nothing left to give;
• Your money is gone;
• You won’t make payroll this week;
• Everything your try fails;
• You are laboring in vain;
• What’s the point of all of this?

We prayed that all of you hear God’s voice and know that He loves you and is offering you the abundance of real life with Him that will never grow old. John 10:10 states, I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

We asked God to give you:

• Child-like trust in Him;
• Inspiration beyond your experience;
• A heart to run with the horses;
• Deep rest;
• A sense of wonder; 
• Peace that passes understanding;
• Comfort and boldness as you respond to His voice.

I love that God inspired us to pray a “horse” verse the week before the year of the horse starts on the Chinese calendar. We also prayed for those of you who will be celebrating New Year’s over the next few days. For you, we asked that this passage about hope that only comes from heaven stays fresh in your mind.
