After nearly three years of praying for businesses, prayer is just as much of a joyful mystery as it was when we started this registry. I regularly feel like a kid the day before opening Christmas presents, wondering what amazing stuff Dad [our Heavenly Father] is going to give to those who have asked us to pray. The Bible describes our prayers as incense filling up bowls in heaven and filling the throne room with their aroma. We like to think that as we pray for you, we are helping to fill the heavenly bowls.
Revelation 5:8b Each had a harp and each had a bowl, a gold bowl filled with incense, the prayers of God’s holy people. MSG
Revelation 8:4 He was given a great quantity of incense so that he could offer up the prayers of all the holy people of God on the Golden Altar before the Throne. Smoke billowed up from the incense-laced prayers of the holy ones, rose before God from the hand of the Angel. MSG
We asked God to:
- Encourage all of us to pray;
- Provide water and fertilizer for the soil of our prayers;
- Share deep wisdom with you;
- Fill your hearts with delightful expectation;
- Deepen your trust in God;
- Restore you and guide you to paths of righteousness (Psalm 23);
- Increase your desire to spend time with Him.
